Is it a tattoo?YES! ANY pigment that is deposited into your skin with a needle is considered a tattoo. Microblading, powder ombre, and nanoblading are all forms of tattooing. You’ll often see it being called “semi-permanent”, simply because it doesn’t last as long as a traditional tattoo. These techniques, when done properly, only stay on the top layer of your skin, unlike a traditional tattoo. As your skin naturally sheds, the pigment slowly fades with it. This gives you the option to change the shape and colour of your brows once they have faded sufficiently.
-
Can I customize my eyebrow shape and colour?Yes, but to a certain extent. If you ask me to give you a shape/colour that does not suit your face or is too extreme to be made permanent, I won't be able to do it. My goal is to create a shape and choose a colour that we both can agree with. It’s best to have eyebrow inspiration photos ready at your appointment so that I can have an idea of what you’re looking to achieve. I usually stay close to your natural thickness/shape/colour for the most natural results.
-
How long does it take?Approximately 2.5 hours, which includes forms, photos/videos, drawing, numbing, and actual procedure.
-
Is a deposit required?Yes. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for new sets and $50 non-refundable deposit is required for 18 months+ touchups. In the event that you are unable to commit to your appointment, you may transfer the deposit to a new date if I am notified 1+ weeks before your appointment date. Please understand that filling your spot last minute is very difficult as permanent makeup isn’t often booked on a whim and a 2-week healing period needs planning.
-
Do I need that initial touch up?A 1-2 month touch up is highly recommended. Everyone heals differently. It depends on your skin type, lifestyle, sleep position, how diligent you are with your aftercare, etc. It's best to book your touch up at your initial session to ensure the date falls within the 1-2 month window. Otherwise, the standard touch up fee applies. After the 2-week healing period, you can decide whether or not you'd like to keep the appointment.
-
How long does it last? The pigment (if not touched up) stays on your skin for 3-5 years though it may be very faded by then. Because the pigment is applied only to the very upper layers of your skin, it gradually fades with time so a touch up is necessary to keep the colour looking fresh. I recommend getting a touchup within a year from your last session.
-
Why can't I drink coffee/tea before my appointment?ANY form of caffeine is a blood-thinner and having it in your system during your treatment will cause you to bleed more. This will negatively impact you in a few ways: 1) your pigment may not stay as well 2) you may have excess scabbing, which could lead to patchy spots 3) you may not numb as easily. Other blood thinners to avoid for 48 hours+ before your appointment include: alcohol, Aspirin, fish oil, vitamin E, heavy workouts.

How do I prepare for my appointment?Your pre-care is just as important as your after-care. Click here to see my pre-care instructions.
-
Should I come in with or without makeup? That’s up to you. Your eyebrow area will be cleaned before we start.
-
Do I need to groom brows before appointment?Either one works for me. Grooming them ahead does give us more time at the appointment but it is not necessary. If you do decide to wax/thread, please do so 2+ days before your appointment.
-
Does it hurt?A 2-step topical anesthetic is used so most of my clients don’t feel anything once they are numbed. Following your pre-care is also very important in minimizing pain. Click here to see my pre-care instructions.
-
How long does it take to heal?Approximately 2 weeks. If you heal sooner, I still recommend following my after-care instructions for the full 2 weeks.
-
What will my brows look like after the treatment?Immediately after, your eyebrows may be darker, and may have a bit of warmth to the colour (warm brown/reddish brown). They will lighten about 20% once healed and the warm colour will cool down.
-
Can I shower after my treatment?Your eyebrows cannot come in contact with water for 24 hours after your treatment. But after the first 24 hours, you MUST wash your eyebrows to prevent buildup of bacteria, oil, and dirt, which ultimately prevents infection. Please note that all artists have their own after-care instructions but this is what I find works for my work. Click here to see my after-care instructions.
-
Who is NOT eligible to get brows done?ALL eyebrow treatments are prohibited if: You are pregnant/breastfeeding. If you have a serious medical condition such as cancer (undergoing chemo/radiation), epilepsy, diabetes, etc. Within 2 weeks of a botox treatment/laser treatment/chemical peel (if done on the eyebrow area). You are within 1 year of being on Accutane. You have keloid scars or if you have a tendency to develop keloids from minor cuts/scratches. If you have a sunburn around the eyebrows. You are under the age of 18 years.
